Care Tailored to What You’re Actually Carrying

You don't have to explain away your feelings or force yourself into a generic box to get help. We specialize in the specific, complex seasons of life so you can work with someone who already understands the landscape you’re navigating.

You don't have to explain away your feelings or force yourself into a generic box to get help. We specialize in the specific, complex seasons of life so you can work with someone who already understands the landscape you’re navigating.

Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many ways: racing thoughts, constant worry, physical tension, or a sense that you can’t turn your mind off. It can leave you feeling exhausted and disconnected from the life you want to live. In therapy, we’ll work together to understand your anxiety, develop tools to calm your body and mind, and help you feel more grounded and in control.

Depression

Depression can make even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming, leaving you feeling numb, hopeless, or disconnected from yourself and others. It can quietly take away your energy, motivation, and sense of joy. In therapy, we’ll work together to uncover what’s beneath the heaviness, find ways to reconnect with meaning, and begin creating space for relief and hope again.

Trauma

Trauma can leave lasting impacts on your sense of safety, trust, and self-worth, even long after the event has passed. Therapy offers a supportive space to process these experiences at your own pace, rebuild resilience, and regain a sense of control over your life. Together, we work to transform survival into healing and growth.

Women's Issues

Women often face unique challenges as they navigate relationships, identity, career, motherhood, and the many transitions in between. These experiences can bring both strength and strain, sometimes leaving you feeling unseen, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step. Therapy offers a space to explore these complexities, honor your story, and reconnect with your voice, needs, and sense of self.

Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness can take a toll on your body, mind, and emotions, often bringing stress, frustration, and feelings of isolation. Therapy provides a safe space to process these challenges, develop coping strategies, and strengthen your emotional resilience. Together, we focus on supporting your well-being, improving quality of life, and finding ways to live fully despite health limitations.

Healthcare Providers

Healthcare work can be emotionally and physically demanding, often leading to burnout, stress, and compassion fatigue. Therapy provides a confidential space for healthcare professionals to process these challenges, build resilience, and restore balance in their personal and professional lives. Together, we focus on strategies to manage stress, prevent burnout, and support overall well-being while continuing to care for others.

Perinatal Mental Health

Pregnancy and the postpartum period can bring a mix of joy, uncertainty, and emotional upheaval that few people fully prepare for. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, birth trauma, or the transition into parenthood, you don’t have to face it alone. Therapy provides a compassionate space to process your experience, strengthen your support, and find your footing in this new season.

Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity recognizes that every brain works differently—and that difference is not a flaw. Whether you’re navigating ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent traits, you may have spent years trying to fit into expectations that don’t work for you. Therapy can help you understand your unique wiring, build on your strengths, and create systems that support your life and well-being.

Support for Every Dimension of Your Life

You are so much more than just a single set of symptoms or a weekly session. True well-being touches every part of who you are—your relationships, your work, your faith, your family, and your need to feel connected. Wherever you're at in your journey, we offer dedicated spaces built to meet you there.

Knowing what hurts is only half the battle; having the right tools to move through it changes everything. We utilize proven, evidence-based therapeutic modalities designed to help your brain reprocess pain, regulate emotions, and foster lasting change without rushing your unique healing journey.

  • Trauma-Informed

Trauma-Informed Therapy is an approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment for individuals who have experienced trauma. It recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and integrates this understanding into every aspect of care. This approach helps you feel supported, understood, and equipped to heal at your own pace while minimizing the risk of re-traumatization.

  • CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By learning practical skills and coping strategies, you can reduce anxiety, manage depression, and respond to challenges more effectively. CBT empowers you to understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions, creating lasting change in your daily life.

  • EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process and heal from distressing memories and traumatic experiences. By using guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps your brain reprocess difficult events, reducing their emotional charge and allowing for healthier perspectives. It’s a powerful approach for trauma, anxiety, and other overwhelming experiences, often providing relief more quickly than traditional talk therapy alone.

  • DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that combines mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It helps you manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and build healthier relationships. DBT provides practical tools to navigate life’s challenges while fostering acceptance, balance, and personal growth.

  • Mindfulness-Based

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with curiosity and without judgment. It helps reduce stress, increase emotional awareness, and improve focus by bringing calm and clarity to everyday life. In therapy, mindfulness techniques can support coping, self-compassion, and a greater sense of balance and well-being.

  • MI

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, goal-oriented approach that helps you explore and resolve ambivalence about change. By focusing on your values and motivations, it supports you in finding your own reasons and strategies for making meaningful life changes. MI fosters empowerment, self-reflection, and confidence to take steps toward your goals at your own pace.

  • Strength-Based

Strengths-Based Therapy focuses on identifying and building upon your unique talents, resources, and resilience. Rather than concentrating on problems or deficits, it emphasizes your capabilities and potential for growth. This approach empowers you to overcome challenges, boost confidence, and create positive, lasting change in your life.

  • Multicultural

Multicultural therapy recognizes and honors the ways culture, identity, and social context shape your experiences and well-being. It provides a safe space to explore how factors like race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and other cultural influences impact your life and mental health. This approach fosters understanding, validation, and strategies that are respectful and responsive to your unique cultural background.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked queries designed to address common concerns and offer clarity our goal is to help you.

Do you accept insurance?

Novus Leaf operates as a private-pay practice, meaning we do not bill insurance directly. This intentional choice keeps your care entirely confidential, giving you control over your treatment without insurance companies dictating session limits, requiring invasive disclosures, or forcing a clinical diagnosis. However, many clients successfully use their out-of-network benefits. Upon request, we can provide a "Superbill" for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

How much do sessions cost?

Our rates vary depending on whether you are working with an independently licensed clinician or one of our clinical interns: Independently Licensed & Associate Therapists: Initial Intake Assessment (60 mins): $165 Ongoing Individual Therapy (50 mins): $150 Initial Couples Assessment (60 mins): $180 Ongoing Couples Therapy (50 mins): $165 Counseling Interns: Master’s-level interns offer a highly supportive, lower-cost option at a flat rate of $80 per session (with a limited number of reduced-fee slots available).

Do I need a formal diagnosis to start therapy?

No. Many people seek out counseling to navigate everyday stress, life transitions, burnout, parenting challenges, or relationship hurdles, not because something is "wrong." While insurance plans require a diagnosis to authorize care, our private-pay model allows you to get meaningful, supportive help without needing a label attached to your story.

How does the virtual-only format work?

Because our practice is 100% virtual, you can attend your sessions from the comfort of your own home, office, or anywhere you feel safe and private. Before your first appointment, you'll simply download a HIPAA-compliant telehealth app and receive a secure link to your client portal, where you can easily manage appointments, paperwork, and messages.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

We ask that you provide notice at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments ("no-shows"), are subject to the full session fee. We completely understand that unexpected emergencies happen, and your therapist will always do their best to work with you when true life circumstances arise.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE), which is available to you. This estimate outlines the expected costs of items and services related to your health care needs, based on the information available at the time it is created. It does not account for unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment, such as complications or special circumstances, which could result in higher charges. If your bill is more than the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right under federal law to dispute (appeal) the charges. You can contact your health care provider or facility to request that the bill be adjusted to match the estimate, negotiate the charges, or inquire about available financial assistance. You also have the option to start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). To do so, you must begin the process within 120 calendar days (about four months) from the date of the original bill, and there is a $25 fee to file. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will only be responsible for the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate; if it agrees with the provider or facility, you will need to pay the higher amount. To learn more or to access the dispute form, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at (800) 368-1019. Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate in a safe place or store pictures of it, as you may need it if your bill exceeds the estimated amount.
